Minimum Starting Salary: $41,875.00 per year

DUTIES:
Responsible work performing emergency 911 communications services for the Police Department.  Emergency calls and service requests are received from the public and incumbents are required to contact the unit(s) to be dispatched given the type of incident, locations and other pertinent information.  Work involves the operation of a radio system, telephone, NCIC/GCIC terminal, computer and other equipment.  Position provides other clerical services such as data entry, filing and logging information in record books.  Shift rotation required.  Works under the supervision of the Communications Supervisor.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent.  Some experience in emergency communications work preferred.  Experience in related clerical work with proficient computer skills and a minimum data entry of 50 wpm.  Experience in computer operations is required. Must have the ability to deal tactfully with public and local & state law enforcement officials.  Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. 


EXAMINATION:
Will consist of a panel interview and evaluation of prior education and work experience.  A Criminal Background check and successful pre-employment, post-offer drug test are required.

DUTIES:
This is mid-level professional work in enforcing the City’s property maintenance code, and other City codes/ordinances.   Conducts field inspections of alleged violations of city codes/ordinances. Prepares written reports of inspections as specified by department procedures.  Issues warnings and citations when violations are proven. Incumbent acts as liaison between the complainants, alleged violators and the City. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Chief Code Enforcement Officer and Planning and Development Director.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Some experience in county or city government planning, zoning, or development; or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills. Any equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Possession of a valid Georgia driver's license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Certification as zoning and property standards inspector or possess the ability to obtain such certification within one year of employment.

POLICE COURT SECURITY OFFICER (Part-time) - POLICE DEPARTMENT


Salary Range:  $27.00-$39.00 per hour

DUTIES:
This is general law enforcement work responsible for protecting life and property and enforcing laws and ordinances. Screen persons entering the courthouse using magnetometers, x-ray machines, and other devices to prevent unauthorized weapons/contraband from entering the court facility.  Provide police security by patrolling the interior and exterior of the courthouse.  Escorting judges and other court employees as needed.  Maintain order inside the courtroom.  Escort inmates to and from the courthouse as needed.  Work requires independent judgment and discretion in difficult or unusual situations.  Work involves an element of personal danger.  This is a part-time position, generally consisting of 20 hours or less per week. Work is performed under the general supervision of a police corporal.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in law enforcement preferred.   Basic certification as a Georgia Peace Officer.  Completion POST approved in-service training each year.  Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.   Possess valid Georgia Driver's license.


EXAMINATION:
Will consist of an application review, panel interview; an evaluation of prior education and work experience; and a criminal and credit history background check.  There will be a rigid personal and work background investigation.   Also the successful candidate must pass a post offer, pre-employment drug test, psychological, polygraph and physical examination.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

PERMANENT PART TIME FACILITY WORKER


Starting Salary: $15.00 per hour   (20-25 hrs per week)

DUTIES:
This Permanent PT work will be assisting Park Maintenance staff with general facility maintenance and up keep.  Incumbent will assist in preparing facilities for rentals and SPRD events at any Parks & Recreation facilities.  They will assist in various janitorial duties on a daily basis including but not limited to trash pick-up, restroom cleaning, dusting and various facility repairs and up keep.  Position requires ability for incumbent to work Monday – Friday, some weekend and evening work required on an as needed basis for Park Special events.  Ability to respond to the needs of other staff and city workers and perform “team” oriented duties.  Position reports to the Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Park Crew Leader.

Duties  

This is semi-skilled manual work in maintaining the City's right-of-ways, grounds, streets, curb and gutter, and storm water systems.  Work can involve heavy manual tasks that may require the use of power tools and operation of light to heavy equipment.  Majority of work is performed outside.  Must be able to respond to service needs within a 30 to 45 minute response time during evenings and on weekends. Assignments will be carried out under the direct supervision of the Public Works Maintenance Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Public Works Department or other related field preferred.  Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.  Qualified applicants will have the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions for extended periods of time.  They also will possess the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) and bend, squat, twist, crawl and climb on a daily basis. Incumbents must be able to operate assigned equipment in a safe and efficient manner and possess a valid Georgia Driver's license with a good motor vehicle record.  Must enjoy teamwork.
